Unusual Building

This building on Windyheads Hill, near Pennan, Aberdeenshire appears to have been used for VHF Direction Finding and would have originally had a platform for an aerial on the roof. The construction is unusual in that the inner and outer walls are wooden with a layer of tar paper protecting the outer wall. The void between the walls appears to have been filled with pea gravel. More information can be found in the RCAHMS record.
